Q: Besides the physical DVD disc, is your program able to get other things loaded, such as IFO or DVD Folder on my hard drive? And how can I do that?
A: Beside the button "Open DVD", you can find certain sub-items. You can get the IFO file or DVD Folder loaded by the items offered there, Open DVD Folder and Open IFO File. Or you can find those things in the File menu, too.
Q: After my DVD is loaded into, it only shows the titles in the program. How can I get the chapters of my DVD displayed in the list?
A: In the "Edit" menu, there is an item called "Show Chapters". All the chapters on your DVD, under each title, will be displayed in the program list after you click it.
Q: What are other settings? In your former versions, there are lots of setting items on the right. But I can only get a few of them on the right now. Where are the settings like Frame Rate and Sample Rate?
A: On the top right, beside the words "Profile Settings", there is a button called "Show Advanced Settings". An extended panel will show other settings after you click it. You can set the audio Bit Rate and Sample Rate, as well as other items there.
Q: Can I edit the ID Tag information items for the output files?
A: If you select WMA and MP3 as output format, you can edit the Tag information for the conversion job. All the items of Tag information are also in the Advanced Settings.
Q: How can I modify the settings on the right panel of the interface for my conversion job? Should I just use the values which the program has offered or should I enter a number which I want directly? But after I click "Start Ripping", all the options I modified will return to the default ones. Why?
A: Before you modify anything, you must highlight the item of your DVD, chapter or title which you want to rip in the program. Besides the values we have offered, you can simply enter a number you want for the conversion for most output formats, such as audio bit rate, sample rate. But sometimes, it would be limited by the output format as well as some other conditions.
Q: After the conversion is done, I found that it is not in the correct audio track I want. What I want is French, but I get English. How to correct it?
A: In the "Audio" box, all the audio tracks can be found. Please select the one you want before you start ripping. It is on the top of the loading list.
Q: After I make some proper modifications on settings, is it possible to save it as a single profile so that I can use it directly each time?
A: It can be done by the "Save As" button. After you finish the modifications, please click this button and finish other jobs following instructions. After the profile is created, you can delete or re-name it as you like.
Q: I just want a clip/segment of my DVD. Is it possible?
A: Yes. You need set "Start Time" and "Duration" to get the clip you want. It is on the Advanced Setting panel. First of all, you should highlight the tile of your DVD, which includes the main episodes of the movie. And then enter correct values for "Start Time" and "Duration", which can be found on the right. Panel of the interface For example, if you want a 3-minute-clip from the 10 minutes of the whole movie, please enter "00:00:00" for "Start Time" and "00:03:00" for duration.
Q: After my DVD is ripped, I get a quite low/high volume. Is it possible to raise/lower it?
A: Please open "Tools-Preference", in the "DVD (Global)" card, you will find the option for "Volume". The default value is 3. You can enter a smaller or larger number for it. If you can not be sure what a proper number is, our software can help you detect it. Please click the "Normalize" button on its right. Our software will then begin to test the volume value of your DVD. The longer you wait the more accurate number you will get. During the detecting process, you can get the number that our software gets saved automatically by clicking "Save and Close".
Q: After the conversion is done, I click "Open" to find the output files. But I get a sub-folder named in the Album of my DVD and the output files are in it. Is it possible to avoid it? I just want to find my output files directly in the output folder I set.
A: If you do not like it, please open "Settings-Preference". In the "General" card, please cancel the options for "Create chapter folder in the output folder" and "Create album folder in the output folder". After that, you will be able to find the output files directly in the output folder.
Q: After the conversion to certain audio formats is done, I found that the output audio files always skip. It means there are always some short breaks during playback. How to correct it?
A: Maybe you have set a smaller value for audio bit rate, which is also on the Advanced Setting panel. Please try a larger one for it. Generally speaking, the default value we offered can assure a good result. And also, is it possible to select another audio track for the conversion job?
Q: How to rip my DVD into one file?
A: After your DVD is loaded into the program, please highlight the title of your DVD which contains the main episodes of the movie and then run "File-Rip Selected" to get it ripped. If you did not change "Split" option whose "Infinite" is the default option, you should be able to get one single file for the entire DVD.
Q: After I get the output files I want, I found they are all named in "Title 01", "Title 02" or "Chapter 01", "Chapter 02", etc. Is it possible to use the title I want for them directly?
A: On the right, there is a box called "Name". What you entered in that box before the conversion will be the title for the output files.
Q: What does "Add Profiles" do?
A: If you want to get the same source, title or chapter, converted into different target things, with different formats or different configurations, this function will help you. It will be active after you highlight the loading title or chapter, which you want to convert. After clicking it, the title or chapter that you chose will be duplicated so that you can set different settings for each of them.
Q: I know if I want to get better output quality, I need set higher values for video and audio bit rate respective. And the output size will be larger at the end of the conversion, too. So how can I know the most proper values for video and audio within the output size I expected?
A: We have a small tool in the "Tools" menu, Bit Rate Calculator. By this tool, you will get the proper settings for video and audio Bit Rate respective abiding by the output size you entered there. Once again, you must highlight the title or chapter that you want to convert first. What you decide there will be the settings for the items on the right automatically after you confirm them.
